Important Policies To Know

Philosophy on Appropriate Clothing:

We are trying to set an atmosphere of acceptance at camp.  T-shirts (without derogatory or suggestive pictures and/or print), jeans, skirts and shorts are the best things to bring.  Leave the short shorts, spaghetti straps, crop tops, ‘barely-there’ swimsuits and other questionable clothing at home.

Participation:
All campers and staff are expected to participate, as much as possible, in the events of the camp.  Campers and staff are expected to be cooperative. Aggressive behaviors, wandering and/or flight risk tendencies as well as disruptive behavior of any manner result in early departure from the camping program at the parent/guardian expense.

Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Policy:
The campgrounds we rent is a tobacco, alcohol and drug free facility. Any violation of this policy may result in dismissal from the camping program.

Camp Size:
The number of campers is determined by the number of volunteers, not by the number of available beds.  Wait lists for campers occur when there are not enough volunteers.  No camper who submits an application is guaranteed a place at camp.

Snacks:
Daily snacks are provided.  Campers do not need to bring extra food or drink items with them, as these have been known to draw extra “guests” into our cabins (ants, etc.)

Health Care Nurses:
Camp Courage has nurses on site during the entire camping experience.  These nurses are available for taking care of minor injuries and will maintain and distribute all medications on the campgrounds.  In the event a doctor needs to be called on behalf of a staff member or camper, a nurse will oversee the emergency until other medical personnel can arrive.  All medical conditions must be documented for everyone on the campgrounds during Camp Courage.

Money and Valuables:

Camp Courage does not assume responsibility for any lost or misplaced personal items.  While cameras, ipods, mp3 players, video games and other electronic items are fun to have, they will not be replaced if broken, lost or stolen.  There is no need to bring any money to Camp Courage, as all food, snacks and prizes are included in the camping fee.

Camp Courage will be held from June 22-25. For more information, please email us at campcouragemo@outlook.com.
